Get the most out of every gallon & every dollar.

For the first time in a long time, maybe even forever, everyone in the country finally all agree on one thing; fuel prices are just ridiculous! Everyone is talking about it, and everyone is trying to figure out how to get the most out of each gallon of fuel. Bully Dog is here to help with a number of tried and true tips and tricks.

1: Evaluate how you drive: Habits like accelerating too quickly, speeding up to stop signs/lights, and driving fast all affect fuel mileage in a negative way. Most of the time these habits, like all bad habits are hard to break. As you drive each day think about your driving habits and think about what driving habits you can change with very little effort.

2: Vehicle maintenance/upkeep: A vehicle that is taken care of and maintained performs better and gets better fuel mileage. Have each of these systems checked on a regular basis:

  • a. Air filter – Keep it clean
  • b. Fuel filter – Keep it clean
  • c. Fuel pump – Confirm that it is operating properly
  • d. Tires & tire pressure – Make sure they are in good shape and inflated properly
  • e. Spark Plugs – Keep them clean or replace on gasoline engines.

3: Clean out your Vehicle: Weight will always reduce your fuel mileage, so keep your vehicle clean; whether it be trash or simply unneeded objects or maybe you were just to lazy to remove the box of treasure you found at the swap meet last weekend. If it does not need to be in the vehicle, remove it!

4: After market products: Quality after market products from companies like Bully Dog can add additional fuel economy. All of the following products have been proven to add addition fuel economy to vehicles if the vehicle is driven the same way that it was driven before installing the after market products:

In addition to these tips, Bully Dog can offer you a little more. For the last 10 years or so, Bully Dog has manufactured performance products that also increase fuel mileage when used correctly.
